Dearest Jonathan
Whom i had the pleasure to work with for 14 years and previously supervise. I will miss you greatly. Your presence will be missed by all those you worked with. You were so helpful to all those around you. Such a gentleman, kind and chivalrous. Always wishing others to have a good evening and take good care.
I have also never worked with such a hard working dependable and dedicated colleague. You were consistently at the top of the firms performance charts and won the firm’s caseworker of the year award, on more then one occasion. Even people outside the firm remarked about you to me, such as detention centre staff and court staff. I will never forget when I had to force you out the office mid December as you had taken no annual leave the whole year. That is how dedicated you were.
Your calm nature as an advocate and willingness to argue a case: even with hopeless merits, had judge’s remarking about your valiant efforts in their decisions. What stood out for me was your representation for mentally ill clients, who often cannot express themselves. Through your advocacy you provided a voice for them to put their case. You also did your upmost to assist female clients who suffered exploitation and domestic violence.
You were dedicated to immigration law and always represented your client’s to the best of your ability, without any pre conceived ideas or bias.
There is a gaping hole left by your absence not only within the firm but also in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of calling you a friend. You were more then just a work colleague to so many of us.
I will miss you greatly, may you rest in peace.
All my love
Jenna
